Background
We became tired of buying lemonade smashing equipment from other manufacturers because the "good ol' boys" network doesn't seem to respond promptly to to texts, calls or emails. So, we decided to manufacture our own citrus smashers because we know the level of equipment and customer service it takes to succeed in the lemonade business.
We've taken our experience and combined it into one more unique citrus smasher to assist you in advancing your lemonade business to the next level. Since we utilize citrus smashers each week, we know what it takes for quality and efficiency.
Now, we’re going to offer our new Ultimate Citrus Smasher Stainless for sale to other vendors.
*For use with 32 ounce Deli Cups Only
Look at these premium features:
- Super smooth, quiet and precise operation.
- Constructed from food grade materials including aluminum (non-food contact), stainless steel and Acetal Copolymer. No other lemon smasher manufacturer offers these construction materials as a combined option.
- The Acetal Coploymer we utilize is FDA and NSF Compliant. (Documentation on file)
- 1.5 inch pneumatic cylinder with rod wiper and stainless steel head nut., housing and rod.
- Square-grooved 3 inch food grade smasher head designed from Acetal Copolymer distributes forces across all citrus wedges because it spans 95 percent of the bottom of the deli cup. Other manufacturers utilize a 2 3/4 inch "sharkstook" or v-groove design smasher head which does not cover but 80 percent of the bottom of the deli cup. Why is this important? Because, it covers all of the citrus wedges to smash evenly and releases the juice outward along the square grooves.
- 316 or 304 stainless steel top and bottom plates means no need for powder coating and the chance for chipping or fading of a powder coated surface. And standard powder coating is not food grade unless it contains materials defined by the FDA.
- Airtac toggle-style hand switch - pull back to lower plunger; push forward to raise plunger
- Airtac 1/8 inch push to connect / release fittings
- Airtac flow control valves (2) to adjust plunger up and down speeds.
- Airtac 1/8 inch polyurethane tubing for all air lines
- Radius corners on both top and bottom plates (no sharp edges)
- Hand-rest located beside toggle-style hand switch
- Aluminum 4-post design not only saves weight, but also prevents cups from falling through the front.
- A unique funnel splash guard practically eliminates back-splash and the need for an outer splash guard. We were the first to develop this type of "funnel" splash guard for citrus smashers back in 2019. Again, this makes cleaning easier as there is no outer splash guard that has to be removed for cleaning.
- 7 foot air attachment line to your air compressor.
- All air lines and switch housing are located above the top plate so that cleaning underneath the top plate is easier. Most competitors locate their air lines and switch housing under the top plate exposing them to citrus splash.
- All screws, nuts, washers, adapters, top / bottom plates, splash guard, and side rods are comprised of either 316 / 304 Stainless Steel, 6063 Grade Aluminum and Acetal Copolymer. Even the rubber feet are BPA free.
Why did we make our top and bottom plates from 316 stainless steel? It‘s quite simple as it's an FDA approved food grade material. Stainless steel does not have to be powder coated.
If a manufacturer of a citrus smasher tells you that their powder coating is "food grade", then you should ask them to supply you with the FDA approval for their powder coating process and / or if their powder coating contractor actually utilized powder coating materials that were FDA approved. It's not just us talking.... just read below:
"It should be noted that no FDA compliant powder coating comes with a blanket FDA approval. FDA approval only occurs after the completed assembly has been coated and then submitted to a third-party laboratory for testing to the FDA requirements of 510(k), ISO 10993, or ISO 13485."
FDA Compliant Coatings - Andrews Powder Coating, Inc.
The Ultimate Citrus Smasher Stainless along with the Ultimate Citrus Acetal Copolymer Smasher are the best pneumatic citrus smashers money can buy and while they are a little higher in price, the quality is far better and it's made with food grade materials. You get what you pay for in the end. This citrus smasher is truly a piece of commercial equipment. And again, we don’t just manufacture them….we use them in our business every week.
All units are custom-made upon order.
DISCLAIMER: No claim is being made that any of our citrus smashers are FDA and / or NSF approved, only that FDA and / or NSF compliant materials have been utilized in their construction.
* Ultimate Citrus Smasher Stainless is meant for use with lemons, limes, oranges or mandarins. Use with any other fruit is not advised.
Acetal Coploymenr is a widely used basic engineering plastic material with a variety of applications. It meets with the compositional requirements of FDA regulation 21 CFR 177.2470 "Polyoxymethelene Copolymer" (POM-C/Acetal) as well as with those of other FDA regulations. It is well suited for tanks, corrosion-resistant and machinable for parts in many food industry components.
We even utilize Acetal Copolymer in our smasher head where most competitors utilize aluminum which can pit and potentially leach if not anodized in accordance with FDA standards.
The FDA supplies a list of raw materials that can be used in the manufacture of FDA compliant coatings. If the manufacturer uses only these listed raw materials in the formulation of their powder coatings, the manufacturer can market them as FDA compliant coatings.
Will the competitors supply you a document from them or their powder coating contractor that ensures FDA approved powder coating was utilized?
Think about it.
A leading global suppliers of pneumatic cylinders, Festo, has a great article about cylinder cushioning.
Other citrus smasher manufacturers most likely use aluminum for their top and bottom plates. Those plates are very rigid and have very little, if any, flexibility.
High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) allows the least bit of flexibility and thus cushions the extension of the cylinder rod / smasher head so that it never comes to an abrupt stop.
One of our loyal fans got a screenshot of another Facebook page for lemonade vendors.
The member that posted this photo seems to think this chipping / peeling is acceptable? Seriously? This is what can happen to powder coating if you “take care of it“. (Those are the member’s words….not ours.) We also don’t believe that unit is seven (7) years old as the manufacturer did not have that model even available seven (7) years ago.
This is NOT acceptable at all. Do you think a health inspector or customer wants to see this? That group’s member has since removed the photo,
Is this the kind of craftsmanship or issue you want to deal with?
The Ultimate Citrus Smasher requires no powder coating and is constructed of food grade materials.
At 90 PSI, a 1.25" bore air cylinder produces 110.45 pound feet of force. Smaller cylinders heat more rapidly than larger ones.
At 90 PSI, a 1.5" bore air cylinder produces 159.04 pound feet of force.
With the first two (2) photos in mind, and while using a 1.5" bore air cylinder, you can reduce the pressure of your air compressor to 70 PSI and still produce more force than the 1.25" bore air cylinder.
Photo of a 2 3/4 inch smasher head (puck) in a 32 ounce deli cup.
Most competitors utilize a 2 3/4 inch smasher head (puck) which does not cover but 80 percent of the bottom of a 32 ounce deli cup, thus leaving untouched citrus wedges. One would have to reposition the cup to smash the untouched citrus wedges.

The Ultimate Citrus Smasher utilizes a 3 inch smasher head (puck) which covers 95 percent of the bottom of a 32 ounce deli cup, thus touching all of the citrus wedges without having to reposition the cup and all while leaving enough space for juice to flow up around the smasher head (puck).
