If your Heath Department wants to know  about the material construction of our citrus smashers, our buyers can refer to the Buyer Support Tab and obtain all necessary documentation. Each of our citrus smashers is constructed from food grade materials for all food contact areas. In addition, we don't powder coat the top and bottom plates as it could chip and / or peel from the acidic content of any citrus. 

Top and Bottom Plates are constructed from 316 or 304 stainless steel.  

The Cylinder Rod Extension is constructed of 316 grade stainless steel. 

Smasher Head (Puck) is constructed from Acetal Coplymer, a widely used basic engineering plastic material with a variety of applications. It is well suited for tanks, corrosion-resistant wall protection and machined parts in many food industry components. 

Acetal Copolymer is an FDA / NSF Compliant material.

Other manufacturers utilize aluminum for their smasher heads (pucks). Aluminum is only made food safe when it has been properly anodized. If you're using a smasher from another manufacturer, please ask them to supply the documents showing that the smasher head (puck) was properly anodized by a certified provider.

Smasher Head (Puck) Support Plate is constructed from 304, otherwise know as 18 - 8, stainless steel. 

Smasher Head (Puck) Nut is constructed from 304 stainless steel. 

Smasher Side Support Rods are constructed of 6063 aluminum. These are non - contact with the citrus processing and only used to support the top and bottom plates.
